Fact-Checking Policy
At Indus Time News, our foremost commitment is to publish content that is accurate, fair, and reliable. We recognize that trust is earned through consistent journalistic integrity and a transparent editorial process. Therefore, we follow a rigorous fact-checking protocol guided by the following principles:
1. Commitment to Accuracy
We strive for accuracy in everything we publish. This
includes verifying facts, quotes, and visual information. Our editorial team
approaches every story with:
- Skepticism toward unverified claims
- Critical assessment of assumptions and conventional narratives
- A commitment to represent facts truthfully and in context
2. Due Accuracy
We adhere to the principle of “due accuracy,” which means the level of accuracy must be appropriate and proportional to the nature and purpose of the content. In cases where there are constraints—such as limited sources or breaking news—we explicitly disclose such limitations.
3. Sourcing and Corroboration
All content is expected to be:
- Based on credible, verifiable sources
- Supported by multiple points of evidence wherever possible
- Transparent about uncertainty, without engaging in speculation
Uncorroborated information, allegations, or claims—especially those made by
public figures or interest groups—are attributed clearly, and never reported as
established facts without evidence.
4. Integrity of Information
Our journalists are prohibited from:
- Plagiarizing content
- Knowingly misrepresenting facts or visual media
- Altering the context of information in a misleading manner
5. Editorial Oversight
Every story undergoes a multi-level review process:
- Initial verification by the reporter
- Editorial review by section editors
- Final review by senior editors based on complexity and sensitivity
This layered approach ensures that errors are minimized, and standards are
upheld.
Correction Policy
Despite our best efforts, errors may occasionally occur. Indus Time News is committed to correcting all factual errors promptly and transparently to maintain public trust.
